I just finished reading the last book in this series, and did anyone think that there was some 'Harry Potter' influence in there, or was it just me? I really liked the movie version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, tho.

Yeah, I kind of see what you mean, Kyle. There was a bit of 'Harry Potter' at different parts of the novels. I own the movie; I've watched it several times already, once in Spanish! Weird listening to it. I thought the fighting scenes were very much like Lord of the Rings; that's probably where Lewis got his Tolkien-ish idea! ;D

you know, though, that narnia was written waaaaaaaaaay before harry? classic series, yes? i loved the books as a kid until the very end, where it got a little churchy. not that christianity is bad or anything, it was just disappointing to find out my favorite fantasy novels were not intended to be fantasy, but a biblical allegory and, i agree, the first book is great isn't it? did anyone see the BBC movie version of "lion, witch, wardrobe"? pretty funny . . .

I didn't know about the BBC version, although it sounds interesting. I kind of made the connection that Narnia was a bit like the Bible, with Aslan being like the God figure and ruling over the rest of the animal kingdom. In the book, the animals weren't able to talk like humans until AFTER Aslan returned, and I noticed that it wasn't put into the film. Maybe that was done on purpose.
